INVEST IN EUROPEAN BAMBOO

Europe is the largest export market for Asian bamboo and is 100% dependent on imports. This imported bamboo is becoming increasingly expensive, partly due to inflation and rising transport prices. While bamboo is essentially an insanely sustainable resource, it is debatable whether that is still the case when you import it from Asia, in highly polluting cargo ships, to Europe.

Meanwhile, Europe is fully transitioning toward sustainable agriculture and (timber) construction. The agricultural sector is diligently searching for profitable low-footprint crops as an alternative to the high emissions of the currently standard agrarian methods. The construction sector, too, needs to drastically improve its sustainability to reduce its footprint.

There is also an increasing demand for locally grown bamboo from producers and consumers. There is a shortage of fresh bamboo shoots as food in Europe, and industrial manufacturers would like to incorporate locally grown bamboo into their products to reduce or offset their carbon emissions.

The demand for sustainably grown bamboo is many times greater than the supply. By investing with our partner in European bamboo forests in Portugal, we are creating the supply to meet this demand and laying the foundation for bio-based disruption of numerous sectors.

Bamboo offsets an incredible amount of CO2 and is an excellent alternative to wood. It is a natural product that grows 15 times faster than trees and can be harvested infinitely.
Image
Bamboo has over 10,000 different uses. The number of possibilities is unimaginable.

30% of the usual costs and emissions for bamboo are in transportation. Bringing bamboo production from Asia to Europe makes bamboo even more sustainable and cheaper.

WHAT WILL OUR BAMBOO BE USED FOR?

Our bamboo will initially be used primarily as a building material. For example, think of pressed wood boards or kitchen flooring made from bamboo. The beauty of this product is that it is 100% biodegradable and has no waste or residue. Bamboo is a sustainable internal alternative to steel, PVC, hardwood, cotton and composite materials partly because of this. To read more about the applications of our bamboo, we would like to ask you to download the information brochure. In it, we explain in detail exactly what we will do.

WHY BAMBOO IS GOOD FOR THE CLIMATE

    • Bamboo is an absolute champion in CO₂ uptake and oxygen production
    • Bamboo is the fastest renewable material in the world
    • Produces 15 times more wood than trees in the same growing period
    • Bamboo is a zero-waste crop and is biodegradable
    • Our bamboo is a pesticide-free crop and is grown on degraded land
    • Bamboo restores soil quality, retains water in the soil, and combats soil erosion

WHY WE INVEST IN EUROPEAN BAMBOO

    • Proven growth in Europe (The Netherlands as well as Belgium and Portugal)
    • Relatively easy to grow
    • Demand and market are present and growing strongly
    • Creates employment in agriculture, processing and related sectors
    • European standards ensure safe and sustainable production
    • With local cultivation and processing, we are building a sustainable business model for a renewable product

    CERTIFIED CO2 REMOVAL

The CO₂ stored in the soil with this project is officially certified by ONCRA, an independent third party. The Carbon Removal Credits issued for this purpose have a monetary value and serve as a guarantee of the positive effects of this project. PROMOTING BIODIVERSITY

We were amazed at the number of species of plants and animals in Portugal's bamboo forests. From clovers to orchids and starlings to rabbits, bamboo forests are an excellent habitat for numerous species. This is important because biodiversity is literally vital.

Expenses for buying and planting the young bamboo, taking care of the plants and the cost of harvesting.

    • COSTS FOR THE OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION OF THE CO2 OFFSET - €51.80

    ANNUAL Returns PER BAMBOO PLANT

You will receive the proceeds from selling your bamboo in the form of returns. This consists of repayment of your loan and interest on the borrowed amount. The return calculation is based on two main factors: the annual harvest volumes of the bamboo and the prevailing price per bamboo product. Before we pay out your return, several expenses are met. After deducting these costs, what remains per bond is an average return of 6.7% per year. The distribution of costs and returns per bond is as follows:
    Image
    • BOND REDEMPTION - €28.00

The redemption of the bond amount.

    • INVESTOR RETURN - €14.25

The average profit distributed to you per bamboo plant.

    • BAMBOO COST - €23.85

      Maintenance, Irrigating and harvesting.

    • Success fee Corekees - €4.20

The reward for Corekees upon the success of the project.

    SUMMARY: WHY BAMBOO?

1 bamboo plant offsets an average of 46 kg CO2 per year
The demand for bamboo is vast, and it is a proven sustainable raw material for both consumer products and industrial applications.
Bamboo is a grass species that grows 15 times faster than wood and also stores a lot of CO2 in the soil.
    Image
Unlike trees, with bamboo the new poles are always larger than the original trunk. As a result, the harvest yield continues to grow year after year.
Bamboo helps ecological restoration of degraded land, prevents erosion and retains water in the soil.
Bamboo is a sustainable alternative to steel, PVC, hardwood, cotton and composite materials.
