Project Amazone
Corekees project since 2023A regenerative agriculture project in Brazil where we grow climate-positive food, plant hardwood trees and pioneer a new revenue model to help protect the Amazon region.

THE DESTRUCTION OF THE AMAZON REGION
Cattle ranching and industrial agriculture are the largest economic activity in the Amazon and account for more than 80% of Amazon deforestation. Amazon forest is cleared for timber and then used as farmland. For generations, these destructive practices have been the dominant source of income for Amazonian residents.
A VICIOUS CYCLE
What's the alternative?
Agroforestry: The future of agricultureAdvantages of Agroforestry
- Higher crop yields
Restores soil structure and health
- Better income for farmers than logging or livestock
Prevents soil erosion
- Large carbon storage
Protects against diseases or climatic swings
- Restores biodiversity
Better protected against market fluctuations thanks to multiple crops
1. Regenerative
Agriculture is responsible for 80% of Amazon deforestation, causing massive species extinctions. By investing in regenerative agriculture, we are showing that it can be done in other ways.
2. Diverse
We plant over 9 different species in one agricultural plot. In doing so, we give priority to native species, including some that are threatened with extinction. We will plant cocoa, plantain, coffee, açai, cloves, balsa, mahogany, jequitiba and ipé, among others.
3. Natural
Why WE harvest trEes tOO
Cutting down hardwood trees as part of a sustainable agroforestry project: it sounds illogical. After all, we want to reforest, not deforest. That is why we use continuous cover forestry, a proven method of planting and harvesting different timber species in the same place. Within this procedure, we opt for selective harvesting. This means we leave the forest untouched, but remove a small part of the trees. For example, 1% in year eight, 5% in year fifteen, and 4% in year twenty-eight.
Maximising carbon storage in trees
Small percentages of phased thinning
Long-term carbon storage in building materials and furniture
In addition, there are quite a few other advantages to this way of working. Want to read more about them? Then download the Project Amazon information brochure.

Courageous Land buys deforested areas of the Amazon and restores them with regenerative agriculture. They replant former pastures and fields with various indigenous crops and hardwood trees. These include coffee, cocoa, plantains, açai, limes but also mahogany, balsa and Ipé wood for (sustainable) logging. With their pioneering work, Courageous Land won the World Economic Forum's prestigious Amazon Bioeconomy Challenge in 2022. INVESTment spend PER 33M2 AGROFORESTRY
Purchasing the land, infrastructure and machines - €20.10
Courageous land buys degraded agricultural land.
Purchasing and planting of the crops and trees and maintenance for the first four years - €39.60
CL propagates and grows a lot of the species needed. The rest they buy from third parties.
Operating capital and contingencies - €5.70

Cost of exchanging currency and absorbing any exchange rate fluctuations. For this purpose, we have analysed the Euro-Real exchange rate over the past 10 years and included the usual volatility in our calculations.
YEARLY REVENUE PER 33M2 AGROFORESTY
Proceeds from the sale of produce form the basis of your return. The calculation of the return is based on 2 main factors: the total weight of all crops produced and an average price per kilo of that crop. Before we pay out your return, a number of costs are met. After deducting these costs, what remains per bond is an average expected return of 7.3% per year. The breakdown of costs and returns per bond is as follows:
Bond redemption - €9.90
The redemption of the bond amount.
Investor yield - €10.20
The average profit distributed to you per bond.
Corekees costs - €1.80
The part Corekees needs for its operations concerning this project.
Courageous Land costs - €42.00
Courageous Land provides the most work and, for that reason, also has the highest cost. Think of production costs, office costs, personnel costs, etc.
Summary: why Agroforestry?
1. Planting more than 9 different native species contributes to biodiversity. With the harvest of sustainably grown hardwoods, we also combat illegal logging.
2. Agroforestry helps ecological restoration of degraded land, prevents erosion and improves soil life and fertility.
3. One bond in Project Amazon offsets 67 kg CO2/year on average.
4. With this project, we are providing climate-positive food and meaningful employment in rural Brazil.
5. We show Brazilian farmers that it is possible to make a living even without deforestation and destructive agriculture....
6. We offer investors an attractive return with an expected average of 7.3% per year.
